What is IVY ?
 
Ivy Professional School, the exclusive training and education wing of Kolkata’s biggest upcoming IT SEZ, is a brainchild of a group of professionals with extensive global exposure. Just like the meaning of the word Ivy (a tree with evergreen leaves which grows just upwards), the curators have created a unique learning platform which exceeds global standards of education to prepare knowledge professionals equipped with skill sets necessary to excel in a globally competitive IT/ITeS sector.

Why IVY?
 
- India is now the destination of choice for major IT and ITES companies. India is a great source of human resource in the developing world. However employment in this industry is not as huge as it should be.
   
- The main reason for this is the huge gap between academia and the industry.
   
- More often than not the talented youth is not an employable entity in high- end IT jobs. They lack the finishing, polishing and practical skills which are not achieved through the traditional educational courses.
   
- Post-1990 India has entered a phase of specialization in globally competent resources.
   
- Time has come for the professional educational policies to change in India as well. Newer techniques of imparting knowledge, including better interaction, more visual aids and greater stress on hands -on skills can sustain growth in the field of education.
