To acquaint the young, aspiring students wanting to make a promising career in IT/ITeS sectors, IVY Professional School held an information seminar on “New Trends and Dynamic Career Opportunities – A Perspective from Industry Professionals” at INFOCOM-IT Education Fair on Friday, 23rd of Feb 2008.
IVY had specially invited veterans from the industry to shed light on new career trends and what recruiters look for while interviewing young graduates for the global knowledge sector. The hall where the seminar was held was filled with students and parents. The veterans pointed out the importance of being tech and business savvy to be able to apply technology to understand and solve client’s business problems. They also highlighted the fact that to stand out from the herd and serve global clients one has to be aware of global culture and should possess high-personality quotient. These traits will not only ensure that students start their career with flying colours at IT MNCs, but also go up in the corporate ladder fast. The professionals also discussed a few new, high paying yet relatively un-heard of job profiles in IT/ITeS sectors such as Functional Consultant, IT Security Auditor, IT Interface Enabler, etc.
Lastly, the veterans pointed out the need of global standards, processes and systems in the field of professional education in West Bengal and how IVY Professional School’s unique training methodology and global learning platform has brought all of that and more to Kolkata.
The seminar ended with a quick quiz session conducted by IVY on seminar’s learning. The winners of the quiz session were given exciting gifts from IVY.
