Warfare Project (19th July, 2008) |

Ivy’s Warfare Project could easily be considered the highlight of the IT Security program. Held on the last day of the course, it also served as a farewell for the IT Security Batch of July 2008. As part of the Project, the students were divided into two teams. Each team designed and uploaded a Security Program for an e-commerce Web-Site on a Linux platform. Thereafter, the teams attempted to hack into the opponent's Web-Site, while simultaneously defending their own. Placed in this virtual reality environment, the students enjoyed themselves tremendously as they were able to evaluate and implement the skills they acquired during the IT Security program itself. Such a project not only serves as a learning experience, but also instills a sense of confidence in the students that on being faced with threats in the cyber world, they would be able to handle it.
